Bobby the Boxing Kangaroo is the second madaussieknits pattern. Bobby stands at 50 cm high and can be made with moving head arms and legs (as seen here) or as a slightly simpler non-jointed version. Bobby is knitted in dk on 3.00 mm needles and is medium difficulty to make.
My son Freddy is currently traveling in Australia and spent three months working on the land in order to extend his visa.He was sent to a dilapidated farmhouse near Cairns and told he could use the house as accommodation.He arrived alone at dusk and got the shock of his life when he opened the door and about a dozen kangaroos all came fighting their way out. His story reminded me of the boxing kangaroo who turned up every year with the circus when I was a child.
