Its hard for a mad monkey living in Dorset to make friends but through knitting communities I have recently met 2 very very keen knitters who seem to have befriended the Old Madmonkeyknitter. They are so eager for my new work that they email me constantly and this eagerness means I don’t want to let them down and so they have me knitting at 100 rows per minute just to keep up. Their encouragement is wonderful and I hope they both keep up the good work. HELEN Here is Helen’s latest knit, the Cameron Camel beanie hat. She made it for herself but daughter Anna likes wearing it too. Helen first made Oscar the Baby Orangutan and had him finished in no time at all.She chose Oscar because he reminded her of her son James when he was a baby. I’m glad she said that and not me! James loves his new toy as can be seen here but for some reason prefers to call him Sid! Helen asked me to design a babygro pattern in pale green just like James used to wear and here is Oscar in his monkeygro. Ever since he got his new clothes James has decided he’s now called FRED! Whatever the name James obviously loves him! She’s even made a small version of the Oscar jumper,(see Madjumperknits).Helen made a lovely meerkat jumper for one of the toys. Helen has made a Sunny spider monkey in micro format. SASHA Here is Sasha’s Kylie kangaroo and Jason Joey. Sasha is now very busy making dinosaur presents for christmas. Here is steve the Stegosaurus and lots more will follow shortly. Sasha made a wondeful Oscar and matching jumper for a little boy called Oscar. He even has a monkeygro for cold nights. Having finished Mike, Sasha made him a lovely outfit which was her own design. Sasha then made 4 meerkats for a nice man who is giving them as Christmas presents to fellow members of the Meerkat Appreciation Society. Whoops, hope they’re not reading this! Here is Sasha’s finished Mike the Mega Meerkat and he is looking magnificent.
I love Mike the Mega Meerkat!
this is a great detailed pattern and easy to follow i hope more people try him
Am looking forward to knitting my meerkat (after Christmas when all other pressies are done!) If it turns out half as good as the ones I’ve seen, I’ll be more than happy!
